Alexander and Charles with Alban
No-one relates to the little guys like Alban. All of the older children have a special place in their hearts for Alexander and Charles, even as they grow older and farther apart from the parents, but Alban has a gift with them. On the left, a peaceful moment around January 2000 on Sue and Derek's couch, borrowed for four years to replace our hijacked furniture. Thanks, guys. Charlie is four years old here and already heavily into video games. Alex at six is to be found below doing the same thing. There are other activities which preoccupy our young charges, but few as pressing as video games. Well okay, there is fooling around.
On the right is Alban on our driveway in early 2000, introducing Alex and Charlie to the joys of speed on small wheels. We have lived innumerable moments of keen anxiety as the little guys follow in the footsteps of their wild boy brothers.  On the left, it was Alban's 17th birthday in 2006, and Alex and Charlie joined in as he opened his presents.
