Journal (2008 - present) In 2008, we began a new approach to this site, which has become pretty complicated and difficult to navigate. We can't fix that for the first almost fourteen years included in our tapestry, at least not without tying ourselves in knots, but we can change the focus of the site to a chronological photo-journal moving forward. Perhaps we won't keep the Journal consistently. Such is the classic fate of journals. From time to time, we'll add some event or theme that we like, organizing them by year beginning with 2008.
This means that the years from 1994 through 2007 are basically covered by our Tapestry and those from 2008 on are basically in the Journal. The tapestry is a photo album organizing photos by themes across the years, as is explained here. The Journal includes photos arranged by theme or event, but organized and presented within each year. To give a more simple time-line, our carousel of time includes annual summaries of each year gone by, for all of the years captured in this web site, sent to friends and family during the end-of-year Holiday season. To start you off in the Journal, here on the left is one of the best photos that has ever been taken of parents and children together. Janet (www.purelycaptivating.com) took it at Laura and Damian's wedding on Coronado Island near San Diego in February 2009. (Tom was in Paris and couldn't make it). She took several of us all standing around, and then had the second generation jump, just once. Of course, they did so with great enthusiasm! Check them out! Not one foot on the ground out of ten, confirming yet again that it is the parents in this family who have their feet on the ground! |
