Halloween . . . . . . is one of the USA's more recent and successful exports to Western Europe, but to really get into the spirit it helps to live in the US. Here are photos beginning in 1999, when everyone in our household really started getting into the spirit. To cap it off, that year we took the local steam train on a ride through the redwoods following the story of Sleepy Hollow. Santa Cruz has everything!! Below left is Daphné in 1999, with grace and feeling. She was clearly born to pose!
Here's almost the entire household, including Amélie, in 1999. Would you have left your children with the nun, Amélie?
As the years advance, there are fewer photos of Halloween. For the older children, now not really children anymore, it's another reason for a good party. And neither the parents nor the little guys are invited! But the little guys still love it: check out Alex picking out a pumpkin in 2005. It looks almost as big as him!
